GRAVEYARD JACKSON born in Augusta, Georgia ,was playing guitar at age 13 and being a native southerner was a natural blues & country player. His teen years were spent on the music of Muddy Waters & Son House. He was also inspired by the slide work of Bukka White & Johnny Winter. His next 25 years saw a lot of rock & roll music: bands/bars & excessive lifestyles. He also produced 2 indie rock singles during the 70s-80s and toured coast to coast with major & regional bands relocating from Atlanta, Georgia to Hollywood, California in 1990. His music was used on TV show 'Hillstreet Blues' and made him an affiliate songwriter with BMI. & music publisher. During 1991 he was back to the blues with the independent release of 'GRAVEYARD JACKSON' 12 song cassette on his Devilbeat Records blues label. This project was well received worldwide by delta blues fans in USA / Canada / Europe / Australia and Japan. His songs were used in B-movie 'Chickboxer' 1992 and toured SW California in support. He relocated to Florida in 1994 & continued to write & record his music on his own terms ...being true to his blues music. 2004 RORA RECORDS & GRAVEYARD JACKSON release four CDs of new / remastered recordings from the last 13 years. He plays all instruments on the original recordings:~ steel body dobro / acoustic guitars / 12-string guitars / electric guitars / blues harp / keyboards / fender bass / percussions & drums. He writes all his own music & lyrics and sings his own songs with traditional deep southern blues vocals.
